Our Established Legacy
USO, founded in 1951, is a distinguished registered society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. We proudly hold tax-exempt status under Section 80G and 12A of the Income Tax Act, reflecting our long-standing commitment to transparency and social responsibility. Additionally, USO is registered on the NGO Darpan portal and is eligible to accept funds from CSR initiatives.

Our History
In the formative years of USO, the organization was guided by the strong leadership of two remarkable Secretary Generals. Mr. Jiya Lal Jain, our founding Secretary General, was instrumental in shaping the vision and establishing the core values that still drive our mission today. Following his tenure, Mrs. Aleyamma Jain, his steadfast successor, played a pivotal role in furthering these efforts, bringing renewed strength and energy to the organization. Together, their leadership laid a solid foundation for USO’s lasting impact in the field of education and global awareness.
Mr. Jiya Lal Jain
Founded in 1951, the United Schools Organisation of India (USO) owes its vision to the foresight of Late Mr. Jiya Lal Jain. His mission was to weave the principles of the United Nations into the fabric of school education across the nation. As the Founder Secretary General, he championed values of national unity and peace, while revolutionizing the concept of extra-curricular tests on a national level. Under his dynamic leadership, USO soared to new heights, leaving a lasting legacy of innovation and educational excellence.
His legacy lives on as a true legend, with his unwavering pursuit of excellence continuing to inspire and motivate us every day.
Mrs. Aleyamma Jain
After the demise of Mr. Jain in 2007, the late Mrs. Aleyamma Jain took the helm with renewed passion and dedication. She worked relentlessly to advance the UN’s teachings, bridge educational gaps through enhanced extra-curricular activities, and extend USO’s reach to numerous schools. She focused particularly on tier 2 and tier 3 cities, creating a national platform for students from diverse backgrounds to express their ideas and showcase their talents, broadening their horizons.
Her dynamic and charismatic presence, along with her relentless drive, left an indelible mark and is deeply missed by all.
