Biosphere Reserve Champions 2026
Biosphere Reserve Champions 2026 is a national initiative by USO, in collaboration with UNESCO, that enables students to explore India’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and World Heritage Sites through AI, research, and innovation.
The programme inspires students to develop sustainable solutions while building environmental awareness and future-ready skills.

These activities go beyond traditional academics, providing young minds with opportunities to express themselves, collaborate with peers, and explore their potential in a dynamic and inclusive environment. By engaging in diverse challenges, students develop critical thinking, creativity, and confidence and skills essential for success in the 21st century. Through these platforms, we aim to celebrate student voice, cultivate leadership, and inspire a lifelong love for learning and innovation.
Constitution Awareness Quiz - 2026
In a purposeful effort to foster constitutional literacy among young learners, USO organized the Constitution Awareness Quiz as a special Republic Day initiative. The activity was designed to enhance student’s understanding of the Indian Constitution, its core values, Fundamental Rights and Duties, and democratic principles, while promoting informed thinking and responsible citizenship.
The quiz was held in schools from 20 January 2026 to 27 January 2026 and received enthusiastic participation across the country. A total of 61 schools from 20 states and 1 Union Territory successfully conducted the quiz, engaging students in a meaningful exploration of constitutional ideals and strengthening civic awareness and national consciousness.
Biosphere Reserve Champions - 2025
Biosphere Reserve Champions 2025 is a national-level competition for students of Std. 6–12, designed to build awareness around climate change, biodiversity, and sustainability. The programme encourages students to learn, take action, and inspire their communities towards a greener future.
Launched on 5th June, the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 3,966 students representing 55 schools across 21 states, who actively engaged their communities and contributed to meaningful environmental action.
Biosphere Reserve Champions - 2024
‘Biosphere Reserve Champions’ is a national competition for students of Std. 6–12, promoting awareness on climate change, biodiversity, and sustainability. Students learn, engage, and inspire their communities for a greener future.
This competition launched on 5th June, to promote awareness on climate change, biodiversity, and sustainability. A total of 3,915 students from 34 schools across 19 states took part, engaging their communities for a greener future.
Young Scientist Challenge - 2023
The “Young Scientist Challenge 2023” is an enthralling initiative designed to ignite the spirit of scientific inquiry among young minds. Targeted students from Std. 6 to 10.
Organised in collaboration with CSIR-NIScPR and the Jigyasa program. The 2023 edition saw enthusiastic participation from 53 schools across 18 states, engaging a total of 2,073 students in this knowledge-driven journey. The challenge not only cultivated a scientific mindset but also inspired the next generation of thinkers and innovators.
Dhangyan - 2023
‘DhanGyan for Schools’ is a pioneering initiative developed by the USO, exclusively curated for students of Std. 8 to 12, with a special focus on USO Member Schools. Launched in collaboration with IDOBRO Impact Solutions and Tata Capital.
The journey officially commenced on 6th December and the response was phenomenal — 49 schools from 20 states across India took part, bringing together a vibrant and diverse group of 5,011 students.
‘DhanGyan for Schools’ stands as a shining example of USO’s commitment to holistic education, equipping students not just with academic knowledge, but with life skills that prepare them for the future.
Dhangyan - 2022
DhanGyan is a dynamic financial literacy program designed specifically for Class 8th students, organised by USO in collaboration with IDOBRO Impact Solutions and Tata Capital.
This program exclusively targeted at Class 8th students. This program was conducted in three phases, reaching 51 USO member schools across 19 states, with an impressive participation of 1,931 students including 939 boys and 992 girls. Through engaging sessions and practical learning, DhanGyan inspired students to take their first steps toward financial independence and responsibility.
Mensa IQ Test - 2021
In a remarkable initiative to spark intellectual curiosity among young minds, USO introduced a special pre-test designed as a stepping stone to the official Mensa Test. Tailored for students aged 10 years and above, specifically from Standards 6 to 12, the test aimed to prepare and inspire students towards advanced cognitive challenges.
The registration window for this enriching academic opportunity was open from June 7 to August 31, 2021, and witnessed an enthusiastic response across the country. A total of 47 schools from 15 states participated in the program, engaging 235 bright students in a quest to explore their intellectual potential.
H2Ooooh - 2021
H2Ooooh! is an interactive water education program designed to raise awareness among students of Classes 1 to 8 about water conservation, sustainable use, and environmental protection. The initiative encourages young minds to become responsible stewards of water through creative learning. It empowers students to think critically about environmental challenges and inspires them to take positive action in their schools and communities. Through fun activities and engaging content, the program helps build a strong foundation for lifelong environmental responsibility.
Launched on 1st July 2021, the program saw participation from 55 schools across 18 states, engaging 30,941 students and 394 teachers nationwide.
Ganga Utsav - 2021
Ganga Utsav is a vibrant three-day festival Organised by the NMCG, the festival is observed annually on 4th November to encourage public engagement and foster a deeper connection with the river through meaningful participation.
The Utsav features activities including storytelling sessions, folklores, interactive dialogues with eminent personalities, quizzes, traditional art displays, and captivating dance and music performances by renowned artists.
Ganga Utsav is not just a celebration—it’s a call to action to preserve and protect our sacred river for future generations.
H2Ooooh - 2020
H2Ooooh! is a unique educational program designed for Indian school students from Classes 1 to 8. It aims to raise awareness about the limited availability of water, its sustainable use, conservation, and the impact of its misuse. The program encourages students to think critically, act responsibly, and become ambassadors for water preservation. Through interactive activities, it also provides a platform for students to share their experiences and innovative ideas for protecting the environment. By engaging young minds early, H2Ooooh! fosters a culture of environmental consciousness.
This initiative is being conducted in collaboration with UNESCO and Ri8brain.
