When you access the Site or our mobile application, your personal information is not collected through the use of tracking technology. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can remove or reject cookies, but be aware that such action could affect the availability and functionality of the Site or our mobile application. You may not decline web beacons. However, they can be rendered ineffective by declining all cookies or by modifying your web browser’s settings to notify you each time a cookie is tendered, permitting you to accept or decline cookies on an individual basis. By using the Site, you agree to be bound by our Cookie Policy.
8.2 Internet-Based Advertising

8.4 Website Analytics
We may also partner with selected third-party vendors such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and others, to allow tracking technologies and remarketing services on the Site and our mobile application through the use of first party cookies and third-party cookies, to, among other things, analyze and track users’ use of the Site and our mobile application, determine the popularity of certain content and better understand online activity. By accessing the Site and our mobile application, you consent to the collection and use of your information by these third-party vendors. You are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions. We do not transfer personal information to these third-party vendors. Once you have used these links to leave the Site or our mobile application, any information you provide to these third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy, and we cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of your information. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorised parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.
11. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly solicit information from children. Since most of our activities are meant for school students, we do interact with several school-going children over the phone, social media, messaging, email exchange and any other communication channels. The communication is strictly meant for information-providing purposes only (of our activities) and not to solicit details. The only purpose for us to do so would be to inform the children, either directly or via their parents, when requested for details on our activities.
It is important for USO to have parental consent for any information shared with us during the use of the Site and /or our mobile application. When schools share student details with us during enrolment in our various programs and activities, this is taken as consent, in lieu of parental consent, to manage the information collected. If you find that we have inadvertently collected a child’s information without parental consent, please write to us at info@usoindia.org, and the information shall be deleted immediately.
12. Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023

Where consent is required, it will be obtained in a free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous manner. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to applicable law and the nature of the services requested. Where applicable, we will also provide notice of the personal data collected, the purpose of processing, and the manner in which you may exercise your rights.
You may request correction, completion, updating, or erasure of your personal data, subject to retention requirements under applicable law.

By continuing to use our website, you agree to the use of cookies in accordance with this Cookie Policy.
14. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, to provide our services, to complete transactions, to maintain records, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements.
When personal data is no longer required for these purposes, we will delete it, anonymise it, or securely archive it as appropriate and in accordance with applicable law.
Where deletion is requested, we will erase the personal data unless retention is required for the specified purpose or by law. This approach aligns with the DPDP Act’s erasure framework, which allows retention where necessary for the specified purpose or for compliance with the law.
