Teachers' Training: NextGen Teachers’ Toolkit

NextGen Teachers’ Toolkit is a dynamic one-day, in-person training competition exclusively for educators in Delhi/NCR. Designed to equip teachers from USO Member Schools with innovative tools, future-ready strategies, and practical insights, this interactive session focuses on systems thinking, SDG-aligned pedagogy, value-based education, and smart classroom techniques. The program encourages educators to think beyond traditional methods and embrace creative, student-centric approaches. Through group activities, reflective tasks, and peer learning opportunities, participants will explore how to integrate technology, foster 21st-century skills, and build inclusive, engaging classrooms.

Ms. Karon Shaiva (Award-winning Entrepreneur, Trainer, and Educator)
Karon Shaiva is a Chevening CRISP Fellow from Oxford University, a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Social Innovation (USA), and an alumna of the Swedish Institute Management Program in CSR & Sustainability. With over 25 years of cross-sectoral experience in Asia and the USA, she has worked across technology, education, finance, gemology, and development.
A former visiting faculty at NMIMS Mumbai and mentor with the London Business School-NEN program, Karon has trained educators from K-12 to postgraduate levels. Her specializations include adult learning methodologies, training process design, curriculum strategy, and impact evaluation. She brings rich, global experience to her interactive sessions—fostering participation, reflection, and real-time learning.

Insight Ink - An Article Writing Challenge
Insight Ink is a unique article writing competition launched on 19th November 2024, inviting teachers to share creative solutions for a sustainable future. Centered around the theme “Quality Science Education: Ensuring a Sustainable Future for Everyone,” the initiative encourages educators to inspire students to tackle real-world environmental challenges.
With 40 teachers from 29 schools across 14 states, Insight Ink highlights innovative teaching that promotes sustainability and student leadership.

Teacher's Workshop On Science Communication - 2023

USO, in collaboration with CSIR-NIScPR, organised a 1-day workshop on ‘Science Communication’ for teachers on Friday, September 22, 2023. Held at Einstein Hall, USO House, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, this exclusive offline workshop was tailored for science teachers in the Delhi/NCR region. The workshop aimed to address three crucial aspects:
- Scientific Innovations
- Misinformation and Fake News
- Becoming Responsible Citizens
Science 101 - 2022
Science 101 held in April 2022 was a series of 12 monthly webinars conducted by USO in collaboration with CSIR-NIScPR for Member Schools nationwide. Held on the last Friday of each month, it targeted students in Std. 8-10, with participation open to teachers as well. The goal was to foster scientific temper and showcase real-life applications of science, led by prominent scientists sharing their experiences and innovations. The introduced series aimed to inspire students to pursue careers in science. These scientists conducted webinars on some of the most significant and impactful topics, sharing their expertise and insights to empower teachers with advanced knowledge and innovative approaches. This enabled educators to enrich their teaching methods, inspire curiosity among students, and foster a deeper understanding of science in their classrooms.

My Immuno Booster Receipe Competition - 2021

My Immuno Booster Recipe Competition was organised by the United Schools Organisation of India (USO) in collaboration with Rise Infinity Foundation and GlenMark Foundation. Launched on June 16, 2021, during the COVID-19 lockdown, this national recipe-sharing competition aimed to raise awareness about the importance of immunity. Open to students (Std. 7–12), school principals, teachers, and staff, it encouraged creative and healthy recipe ideas to promote wellness and resilience. Students could participate under the categories of Snacks and Accompaniments – Sweet or Savoury, while teachers were invited to compete in categories such as Drinks/Beverages, Snacks and Accompaniments, Breakfast Items, and Main Meals. This competition aims to uncover and share immunity-boosting home recipes featuring natural herbs and ingredients from across India, benefiting everyone.
National Seminar On Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy - 2017
In collaboration with the Department of Atomic Energy (Government of India), this two-day program, held in February 2017, designed for schools nationally, was hosted at USO House. The event featured an engaging exhibition by the Atomic Directorate of Mineral Resources, offering a deep dive into their groundbreaking work. Participants had the opportunity to explore advancements in the field of atomic energy and mineral resources, fostering awareness and understanding of their critical role in India's scientific and industrial development. This initiative aimed to demystify the complexities of atomic energy, emphasizing its role in powering industries, driving innovation, and contributing to India's progress in science and technology. By connecting theory to real-world applications, the program sought to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers, fostering a deeper appreciation for the vital role these resources play in shaping a sustainable and technologically advanced future.

World Science Day For Peace And Development- 2016

This program, organized in collaboration with CSIR-NISCAIR (renamed CSIR-NIScPR), was specially curated for Delhi-NCR schools and held in November 2016. It included an exciting one-day science excursion to Herbanium, providing students and teachers with a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in the realm of scientific exploration. The excursion featured interactive sessions, real-world demonstrations, and hands-on learning activities, all designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Participants were also encouraged to explore how science can contribute to achieving global peace and sustainable development. By fostering an understanding of the critical role of science in addressing pressing global challenges, this program inspired students and educators to become ambassadors for science-driven solutions in their communities.
