To advance the social, cultural, and moral standards of school teachers and students across India to global standards.
To create global citizens by providing students and teachers alike, avenues to explore their potential beyond academics. The exposure thus received shall help them compete in this global environment.
How Do We Carry Out Our Mission
We are the pioneering organisation to introduce Extra-Curricular tests for students nationally.
We conduct training and development programmes for teachers in association with government bodies.
We run national competitions and campaigns for schools nationally with support from various partners.
Mr. Jiya Lal Jain
United Schools Organisation of India (USO) was founded in 1951, by Late Mr. Jiya Lal Jain, with the vision to promote teachings about the United Nations among school students. As the Founder Secretary General, Mr. Jain aimed to impart among the youth the importance of ideals such as national integration and peace education. He pioneered the idea of extra-curricular tests in school nationally. USO reached towering heights under his leadership and guidance. He also set up the USO International Centre, at USO House, aiming to provide conference facilities to government bodies and NGO’s.
He was a true legend and to this day, his pursuit of excellence continues to inspire us all.
Mrs. Aleyamma Jain
After the demise of Mr. Jain in 2007, the work of USO was continued with even stronger fervor by the Late Mrs. Aleyamma Jain. Mrs. Jain worked tirelessly to further promote the teachings of United Nations, bridge the learning gap amongst school students by strenghtening extra-curricular activities in schools, and widening the reach to several schools. By focussing on tier 2 and tier 3 cities, she further expanded the cause of USO by providing students from varied backgrounds a national platform to share their thoughts and showcase their talents, thereby helping broaden their horizons.
Her strong yet charming personality and perseverance to get things done, is missed by all.
