Our Journey...1951 - 2025
The USO General Conference and All-India Schools Festivals have enjoyed the distinguished presence of former Presidents and Prime Ministers of India, senior government officials, United Nations dignitaries, and other eminent personalities as Chief Guests, Guests of Honour, and special invitees. Remarkably, many of these esteemed guests first experienced USO as young students themselves, participating while still in school in different corners of India, before rising to national and international prominence.

The General Conference & All-India Schools Festival is USO’s flagship event. Held in a different Indian city every 2 years, this 4-day event is attended by teachers and students from all over India. The event is divided into two parts:
- Conference, where all delegates deliberate on issues of global and social concern, and come up with actionable suggestions – collectively as a group – on how these can be implemented in their immediate community. Peace March, Personal Development Session, Campfire and Sightseeing Trip are also part of the agenda.
- Festival in which students compete in various competitions such as On-the-Spot Painting, Declamation (Hindi and English), Solo Dance, Group Dance and One-Act Play which is based on SDG-4 Quality Education .
USO’s flagship event is being conducted since 1951. The main purpose of organising such an event is to help students gain confidence in a protected environment. Additionally, all delegates – teachers and students alike – shall have an opportunity to share their views on matters of global and social concern, while recognising and respecting the perspective of others.
This event is instrumental in promoting valuable ideals such as ‘National Integration’, ‘Peace’, ‘Tolerance’, ‘We Are All Equal’, and so much more. Not only will all delegates create a network, they will also benefit greatly by increasing awareness by interacting with the various participants nationally. This shall greatly assist in each one taking one step closer to ‘Global Citizenship’.
The 62nd General Conference & All-India Schools Festival shall be held Friday, September 26, 2025, to Monday, September 29, 2025. Both days are inclusive, and delegates are required to attend all events.
