A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT THE PROJECT

This initiative was initially conceived in Italy, through the collaborative efforts and creativity of UNESCO-Venice Office, Gruppo Alcuni and RAI Fiction (Italian National TV). The primary aim was to increase public awareness – particularly amongst the youth aged 6 – 14 years –  on water-related issues.

AIM OF THE PROJECT

Through this project, we intend to develop a series of animated cartoon videos, focussing on the issue of water conservation and its sustainable use.  Selected students shall be provided training on cartooning, storyboarding and animation.  Top 3 stories shall be selected, and converted into an animated film.

Why this Competition?

This competition is aimed to encourage Indian youngsters (6 to 14 years old) to actively give their creative contribution to water issues (i.e; its limited availability, its sustainable use, its conservation and safe guarding from exploration of water resource etc.)

Through this project, a series of animated cartoon videos shall be developed, focusing on the issue of water protection and its sustainable use. The story boards of the cartoon shall be based on ideas selected during the competition conducted within the Indian schools, after training them in story boarding and cartooning and animation.
