‘WHAT DOES LEADERSHIP MEAN TO ME?’
DR. Anjana gupta

Martin Luther King once rightly put, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he  stands in moments of crisis but where he stands at times  of challenge and controversy.”

From my perspective, being a leader is a privileged opportunity which bestows one with an ample of glorified chances “to do the best” and “bring out the best”. It is not the calibre of being in supremacy, rather it is an ability of being in distinction. Great leaders, unlike others, do not carry a tunnel vision but have that farsightedness to see beyond what is apparent to the sight. Their decisions are never taken in vacuity. A great leadership adapts to the novation’s and doesn’t mind scrubbing the previous, and countervailing the new by starting from the scratch. Thus, an ideal leadership knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.
